Nigeria recalls ambassador to South Africa

The Nigeria government on Wednesday recalled its ambassador to South Africa Kabiru Bala following the persistent xenophobic attacks on foreigners in the country.

A source in the Nigerian Presidency disclosed that the decision was taken at a meeting between Buhari, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo and Nigeria’s foreign affairs minister Geoffrey Onyeama.

In a related development, Nigeria also pulled out of the World Economic Summit holding in South Africa on Wednesday.
