Buhari meets APC governors, lauds caretaker committee for focus

President Muhammadu Buhari in a meeting on Tuesday, has lauded the Mai Mala Buni-led All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker Committee for its efforts at repositioning the ruling party.

During a virtual meeting with state governors elected on the party’s platform, and attended by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, the President appreciated the governors following the successful conduct of the gubernatorial primaries in Edo and Ondo states.

Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum and Kebbi helmsman, Atiku Bagudu, thanked Buhari for taking the “right steps to resolve the crisis in the party.”

The administrators equally commended the President for his handling of security issues and the economy, noting in particular, the “success recorded in pulling the country out of the 2016 economic recession as well as the ongoing management of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are proud of your leadership and achievements,” they added.
