Farmer arrested for allegedly killing herdsman whose cow grazed on his farm in Oyo (photo)

A 27-year-old farmer in Ogbomoso identified as Abraham Alamu, has been apprehended and arrested for allegedly killing Shuaib Adamu, a herdsman.

 

It was gathered that on August 21, Alamu launched a vicious attack on Adamu of Elega village in Oriire local government area of the state, after Alamu caught Adamu's cattle grazing on his farmland.

 

Confirming the incident to newsmen, the spokesperson of the Public Relations Officer, Oyo state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps NSCDC, Oluwole Olusegun, said Alamu had been handed over to the Oyo state police command for investigations into the suspected murder.

 

Items recovered from the suspect include carpenter working tools: scissors, hammer, saw, nail remover, mosquito net, three ATM cards, two apprentice identification cards, cloth, bible, toothbrush, and purse.

 

Reports had it that Alamu had earlier escaped from arrest on August 21 to an unknown destination before Agro Rangers squad of the NSCDC at Ogbomoso tracked him down on Friday, August 28, and apprehended him.
