In a release by the Senior Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari, Malam Garbage Shehu, President Buhari made this call during the second plenary of the Russia-Africa summit holding at Sochi, Russia.
President Buhari acknowledged the relationship which existed between the former USSR and Africa, noting that before the collapse of the former USSR in 1991, Africa nations during their anti-colonial struggles received lots of support from the former Soviet Union.
On the present Russia-Africa relation, President Buhari called for fresh injection of energy in other to establish a strong partnership between the two nations.
He further acknowledged the Nigera-Russia cooperation which has projected economic growth between the two nations.
President Buhari called for expansion of the relationship to areaa like agriculture, manufacturing and other means if transportation.
